Job Description

We are looking for a Nursing Assistant I for the 3rd North Department at Queen of the Valley Medical Center.

Location: Napa, CA

Work Schedule: Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours

Shift: 8-hour, Evenings

Job Summary:

Performs basic patient care by assisting in the treatment and care of patients under the direction of a licensed nurse. Performs all work under moderate supervision.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides patient care related to personal care/hygiene, ambulation and comfort.
  • Assists in preparing patients for meals, delivery of meals, feeding of patients when necessary and providing fresh water.
  • Accurately checks and reports vital signs.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Notifies licensed nurse of any abnormal/unusual finding of patient conditions or patient problems.
  • Accurately and efficiently reports data.
  • Maintains a committed and cooperative attitude with other members of the health care team.
  • Demonstrates continuous education growth through education and in-services.
  • Demonstrates ability to evaluate needs for moving patients, utilizing proper body mechanics and lifting equipment. Provides assistance to other staff members


  • Possesses effective skills in communication and interpersonal relationships, as demonstrated by the ability to notify licensed nurse of patient changes or abnormal findings.
  • Creates and sustains positive working relationships as demonstrated by open, honest, and respectful communications and interactions and ability to be flexible.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Preferred: Basic computer skills

Minimum Position Requirements:

Licenses/Certifications: Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification.

Preferred Position Qualifications:


  • Acute care hospital experience.
  • 3 months experience in the medical field within previous 2 years.
