We are looking for a Rehabilitation Services Aide for the Rehabilitation Inpatient Department at St. Jude Medical Center.

Location: Fullerton, CA

Work Schedule: On Call/ Per Diem

Shift: 8-hour, Days

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Program Manager and the therapy personnel in the building, the Rehab Services Aide is trained to assist in assigned treatment and functional activities, as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs patient-related tasks in a manner consistent with training provided in physical handling and emotional support of patients and populations served.
  • Completes delegated assignments and special projects for the Program Manager.
  • Maintains the housekeeping duties of the physical environment (set-up of treatment area/ procedures, cleaning of equipment, mats, kitchen, clinic/gym).
  • Completes clerical duties as assigned (photocopying, faxing, filing).
  • Maintains supplies as appropriate to assigned program (i.e. inventory, PT/OT equipment, treatment supplies, linens).
  • Maintains records as appropriate to assigned program (i.e. data collection, temperature logs, etc.).
  • The aide assists with orienting new staff and volunteers to tasks, as directed in assigned program.
  • Supports patient behavior and elicits appropriate social interaction through modeling, direct feedback, and communication of safe patient practices. Escalates safety concerns through appropriate channels.

Skills:

  • Demonstrates skills necessary to perform duties.
  • Appropriate communication skills for the patient population served.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific community resources.
  • Multilingual.
  • Competence in computers and computer applications (word-processing).

Minimum Position Requirements:

Licenses/Certifications: Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Education: Coursework/Training - Education in therapy areas, patient care or ergonomics.
