The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The Polysomnographic Technologist - Sleep Technologist works under the general supervision of the Medical Director and the Administrative Director of Pulmonary & Sleep services to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep credentialed in sleep technology and can provide oversight of other sleep center staff. Qualifications: Required: High School diploma or equivalent At least one-year experience as a sleep technologist Preferred: Qualification to obtain or possession of the CCSH — Certification in Clinical Sleep Health Certifications and Licenses Required: Current New Jersey State License as a Polysomnographic Technologist and/or Respiratory Therapist Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Scheduling Requirements: Shift working, three nights a week 6:30pm-7am Rotating shifts and weekends Full-Time (FT) Essential Functions: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues Perform routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation Follow HIPAA and privacy policies Respond to sleep patients procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate education utilizing sleep center specific protocols Adhere to sleep center policies and procedures Comply with professional standards of conduct Assist the medical director, clinical director and/or manager in all aspects of sleep center operations Performs sleep studies for pediatric patients, starting at 18 months and older, adult, and geriatric patients Demonstrates proper placement of leads and wires with 10–20 setup Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots all sleep equipment, as well as pulse oximetry, transcutaneous monitoring, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and CPAP, BIPAP devices during the acquisition of the sleep study Titrates CPAP/BIPAP according to AASM guidelines Documents technician notes every half hour Scores sleep study according to AASM guidelines Responds to patient requests for information Completes all charges Coordinates dictation, transcription, final report, archiving, filing, and mailing process for sleep studies Maintains inventory control Completes yearly CME requirements Participates in Performance Improvement Achieves inter-scoring reliability equal or greater than 85 percent Performs clerical work as needed, including scheduling, insurance authorization, calling patients to follow-up Benefits and Perks: At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees’ physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
