About Vidant Duplin Hospital

Vidant Duplin Hospital is an 81-bed facility located in Kenansville, North Carolina and has 20 practicing physicians on its active medical staff. Vidant Duplin serves Duplin County and surrounding communities in Eastern North Carolina with a population of approximately 60,000 people. On an annually basis, it serves 3,800 inpatients and over 52,000 outpatients (including nearly 30,0000 ED visits), in addition to a surgical volume of 2,050.

Position Summary

The sonographer provides safe, expedient, cost-effective Radiology services.

As a member of a team of health care professionals, a sonographer is responsible for the operation of the Ultrasound imaging equipment and for performing examinations.

The sonographer demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age, disease process and cultural/spiritual needs of the patient in a variety of clinical settings.

Sonographers behave in a manner consistent with the standards and ethics of all health care professionals.

The sonographer must maintain a high standard of ethics while providing quality patient care.

Minimum Requirements

  • ARDMS certification obtained within 12 months from hire date or registry eligibility status.

  • Ultrasound experience required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

  • Hours - As Needed. PRN.
