Where you work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for 1.0 FTE full time Pharmacy Technician for Swedish First Hill Inpatient Pharmacy.
We are seeking a detail oriented, focused, caring, and thoughtful individual in pharmacy care, who would promote the goals and uphold the mission of Swedish Medical Center to provide excellent care to our diverse patient population.
In this position pharmacy technician will work under the general direction of a licensed pharmacist, independently performs a variety of technical functions:
• Perform inpatient pharmacy drug compounding, distribution, record keeping, and clerical activities under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist.
• Compounding sterile chemo/hazardous and non-hazardous sterile IV products and routine medications.
• Load, refill and troubleshoot PYXIS ES P automated dispensing cabinets.
• Deliver medications to nursing units, clinics, and procedural areas. Return and credit discontinued medications from the units back to the pharmacy in a timely manner.
• Participate in monthly outdate and unit inspection program.
• Communicating concisely and effectively with patients, families, pharmacists, and other health care providers in a friendly and courteous manner.
Required qualifications for this position include:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Completion of an approved pharmacy technician training program
-Current license to practice as a pharmacy technician in the State of Washington
Preferred Qualification for this position includes:
-Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy or infusion pharmacy with sterile IV compounding of chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy medications
-Experience in sterile chemotherapy and non- chemotherapy IV compounding
