Job Description


Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Medical Imaging Scheduler (Per diem FTE, Evening SHIFT) to work in the Medical Imaging Department at Issaquah Campus in Issaquah, WA.

The Medical Imaging Scheduler provides a wide range of routine to moderately complex support tasks for medical imaging along with prioritizing multiple tasks during high volumes. These responsibilities include scheduling outpatient imaging services for CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Radiology.

In this position you will:

  • Based on working knowledge of exams and patient preparation for same, schedule appointments for the following departments: CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Radiology.
  • Coordinates Imaging Services exams with other hospital departments, physician offices and prepare daily schedule for distribution.Coordinates interpreters for patients.
  • Follows up on patient orders and referrals to facilitate making the correct appointment.
  • Keeps abreast of changing exam protocols for each department.
  • Make appointment reminder calls, giving directions and instructions on patient prep, also obtaining appropriate lab information


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Experienced in obtaining insurance verifications, referrals and authorizations

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate’s Degree preferably in Healthcare or equivalent educ/experience
  • Medical Terminology Certification or successful completion of a Medical Terminology course within six months from date of hire
  • Medical imaging experience
  • One (1) year related experience in a healthcare setting preferred (i.e. physician’s office, scheduler, etc)
