Swedish Medical Center is calling for a Respiratory Care Practitioner (0.9 FTE, Night Shift) to work in Respiratory Therapy at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner will set up and operate various type of respiratory care equipment to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness.

In this position you will:

  • Explain purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to the patient.
  • Complete required Epic documentation, billing, scheduling and scanning as applicable
  • Give clear, informative report to relief personnel
  • Adhere to departmental standards, policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Initiate, operate, monitor mechanical and non-invasive ventilation. Continually assess patient's respiratory function and ability to wean from mechanical ventilation.


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory care program
  • Must have completed Respiratory Care’s department orientation
  • Must be a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner with the Washington State Department of Health under Chapter 18.89 RCW
  • Must be registry eligible with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) -OR- Military Training Network (MTN)
  • New graduates qualify for temporary practice if they have complied with the Washington State Department of Health WAC 246-928-530

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials
  • Active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC)
  • Six (6) months of Previous hospital based work experience, in the field of Respiratory Care
