We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist who will responsible for performing patient scans under the supervision of a nuclear medicine physician. Duties include calculating radioisotope dosages for administration to patients, operating radioscopic equipment, and practicing strict radiation safety.

In this position you will:

  • Performs patient and department assessment.
  • Participates in goal directed plan based on outcomes.
  • Implements role based on department and hospital standards.
  • Participates in evaluating effectiveness of duties.
  • Participates in identifying patient/significant other learning needs and demonstrates measures to meet these.
  • Delegates to appropriate team members.
  • Demonstrates applied knowledge when caring for selected patient populations including care appropriate to the age of patients served.
  • Demonstrates competency in selected clinical skills including, but not limited to:
  • Performing nuclear scans including kidney perfusion and image, lung ventilation and perfusion, bone, left ventricular, and gastric emptying.
  • Pet processing.
  • Orders, handles, and disposes of radioactive isotopes, according to established procedures.
  • Accurately prepares and calculates doses of radioisotopes for diagnostics studies.
  • Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own professional practice in regards to:
  • Attendance, punctuality, and confidentiality.
  • Positive public relation image and working relationships.
  • Obtaining necessary knowledge and skill needed to maintain competence.
  • Completing all mandatory requirements, including annual safety films, CPR, state licensure, infection control and annual physical.
  • Participates in the development and attainment of team, department and hospital goals including:
  • Attending and participating in team meetings.
  • Volunteering or accepting assignment for projects.
  • Mission, vision and team ground rules.
  • Demonstrates documentation on patient care records and unit forms.

Qualifications:

Required qualification for this position include:

  • Completion of an AMA approved radiologic technologist training program.
  • 6 months in experience during the last year, or a minimum of 2 years full-time experience with an absence from nuclear medicine of no more than 1 year.
  • Meet requirements for registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist and/or the Nuclear Medicine Technologic Certification Board.

Preferred qualification for this position include:

  • 1 year of experience in nuclear medicine (not required if recent graduate from an approved technician training program).
