Swedish Medical Group is looking for a OpthalmicTechnician (Per diem FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Sni Neuro Opthomology Department at the Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.

Triages clinical and medical inquiries from clinic patients and provides the patient with information and instructions from provider. Responsible for documenting specific disease processes through photography and other imaging devices. Assist Neuro-ophthalmologists by performing ophthalmic clinical functions. May administer eye exams and eye medications. Participates in staff training, including new hire orientations.

In this position you will:

  • Triages phone calls from patients and outside contacts in accordance with the standard of care for Neuro-ophthalmology and office policies
  • Goldman and Humphrey Visual Field Testing
  • Optical Coherence Tomography, Anterior and Posterior Segment
  • Fundus Photography
  • Backup and archiving of data from special test equipment

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Registered in the Washington State as a Medical Assistant-Registered
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).
  • Two to four years related experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred; Certified Optical Coherence Tomographer (OCT-C)
