As an Apheresis Technician at the Blood Donor Clinic, you will work directly with our donors to collect blood, plasma, or platelets for our D-H patients. This role requires formal phlebotomy training, and we provide comprehensive training in the entire donation process, from donor check-in and draws to processing the different blood products for the blood bank. We take pride in our ability to connect with our donors and patients, creating a caring, personalized environment that ensures a great experience. Our strong relationships with our donors and patients, many of whom return regularly, foster greater confidence in our program.
The Blood Donor Program team members have shared some favorable experiences working at D-H. They recognize their essential role as a resource for our community – how the blood they collect will stay at D-H for the benefit of our patients. They say how fantastic it is to be ‘able to build great relationships with our donors - makes it enjoyable to the donors and brings them back’ for future donations. They add that it’s a ‘great atmosphere to work in,’ with tangible and achievable development opportunities, such as becoming certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
We have full-time, day-shift positions available on this fantastic team. We understand the importance of work-life balance, so we will work with you to figure out the schedule that works best for you. This could include three 12-hour shifts or 4 9- or 10-hour shifts.
