40Summary:
The LMSW Social Worker provides services to patients and families coping with acute or chronic medical conditions. The Social Worker provides ongoing supportive counseling aimed at maintaining the functional behavior of families. The social worker assesses families for needed assistance with resource procurement to support the familys effort in caring for their child in either the ambulatory or inpatient care setting.
Education:
MSW or MSSW from an accredited school.
Previous experience in a hospital setting and working with children and their families preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
Current Texas License for LMSW.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for Health Care Providers within 30 days of employment. If physically unable to complete BLS for Health Care Providers, then the employee will have the option of attending a Heart Saver program on campus or attend an outside course using a non-computerized mannequin.
