Job Description

Position Objective:

Performs diagnostic testing utilizing specialized equipment according to practice standards. Measures, calculates and possesses the skills to perform both Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Nerve Conduction studies (NCS) under the supervision of a Physician.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Performs both EEG and NC studies in accordance with established practice and national standards.
  2. Calibrates and sets measuring parameters to obtain basic patient data.
  3. Assesses, observes, reports and records signs and symptoms indicative of changes in the general condition of the patient.
  4. Adjusts machine parameters to best demonstrate and evaluate the nature of these changes relative to the baseline of the patient.
  5. Monitors practice equipment and supplies to ensure adequate maintenance and inventory.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with specialized training in Neurodiagnostics.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in clinical neurodiagnostic field.
  • Preferred: Completion of formal Allied Health program in Neurodiagnostic technology accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

RequiredLicense/Certifications:

  • Registration credentials as R.EEG.T & R.NCS.T strongly preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers
