Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Pediatric Therapy Services at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

The speech-language pathologist (SLP) delivers and supervises others in the delivery of services in the areas of communication, cognition and swallowing. Upon physician referral the speech-language pathologist will perform evaluations and develop individual plans of care to maximize functional outcomes, implementing the plans of care, reassessing treatment results, and actively participating in discharge planning.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrate complex problem solving skills in both patient care and department operations.
  • Perform patient assessment/reassessment. Establish plan of care with the patient, which is appropriate to the patient's needs and allows for informed consent or refusal
  • Documentation meets regulatory requirements, departmental standards, and considers reimbursement needs. Document on day of visit, usually at time of visit
  • Carry out assigned responsibilities in a timely and complete manner, using appropriate judgment and detail
  • Supervises students as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Speech/language pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Washington state speech-language pathology license or interim permit
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN )

  • Related experience
