Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (0.9 FTE, Days) to work in Progressive Care Unit at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

Certified Nursing Assistant provides assistance in the safe and effective nursing care of patients in a variety of age groups which may include neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric which is consistent with the provisions of Chapter 246-841 WAC.

In this position you will:

  • Record vital signs and report abnormal signs and symptoms to the licensed nurse
  • Provide personal care assistance to patients including bathing, dressing, eating and transporting
  • Complete the nursing admission assessment record and orient patients to their room and hospital unit
  • Participate as an active member of the patient care team, including attending and participating in change of shift reports to maintain awareness of patient conditions and unit activities.
  • Assist co-workers on the unit as required to provide quality and responsive patient care.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Completion of a program to obtain a Nursing Assistant certification in the State of Washington and successful completion of the NLN Nursing Assistant in Acute Care Setting examination.
  • Experience in an acute care facility preferred, or related work experience.
  • Current Washington State Certification as a Nurse Assistant is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).
  • Washington State Medical Assistant-Registered is required with Swedish Edmonds facility application completed within 7 days of hire. Must obtain active license within 60 days of hire. Employee will not be authorized to practice independently until registration is obtained.
