Job Description


Swedish Medical Center is looking for a RN Educator Quality Improvement (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Perioperative Administration at Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, Washington.

Accountable for the development and implementation of educational programs for the enhancement of staff development and practice within Perioperative Services. Coordinates clinical improvement initiatives. Manages and coordinates systems for monitoring quality performance including data collection and reporting.

In this position you will:

  • Responsible for ensuring clinical practice reflects current practices; evidence based practices and is consistent with Swedish Health System practice standards
  • Responsible for ensuring nursing practice is compliant with local and national standards, laws, and accreditation organizations
  • Provides leadership for education and staff development programs
  • Promotes professional accountability and staff participation in all phases of the education process
  • Develops, monitors and evaluates competency-based orientation program


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current unencumbered Washington State RN license
  • Five (5) years perioperative nursing experience in progressive leadership roles.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • One (1) year experience in implementing performance improvement practices
  • One (1) year experience in providing education to adult learners
  • Specialty certification
