Job Description

We are looking for an Interventional Radiology/Catheterization Laboratory Technologist for the Cardiac and Vascular Interventional Laboratory at St. Joseph Hospital Orange.

Location: Orange, CA

Work Schedule: Full time - 80 Biweekly Hours

Shift: 10-hour, Days

Job Summary:

The I.R./Cath Lab Technologist performs the duties of a Radiologic Technologist. They are developing knowledge and competency in performing I.R. and/or Cath Lab procedures. They may be independently competent in one modality. They may be proficient at performing simple procedures for adults and pediatric patients.

Essential Functions:

  • Obtains quality view for diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures for adult and pediatric patients. (Pediatric patients in I.R. only)
  • Ensures appropriate image selection and production of quality diagnostic images.
  • Knowledge of Basic ECG, arterial and venous waveforms.
  • Anticipates patient/physician procedural needs.
  • Knowledge of procedural sequence and filming techniques.
  • Prepares previous diagnostic and/or interventional studies for physician review.
  • Ability to operate all radiologic equipment in the I.R./Cardiac Cath procedural suite.
  • Ability to input data into computer.
  • Ability to select, print and process digital image to film using laser processor.
  • Completes required patient processing and charging daily.
  • Demonstrates poise under pressure as evidenced by the ability to function in procedure suite during patient code.


  • Ability to work effectively with others by demonstrating a team approach to patient care.
  • Knowledge of and ability to remain calm and critically think during critical/emergent procedures.
  • Computer skills.
  • Basic arrhythmia knowledge (within 1 year).
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.

Minimum Position Requirements:

Education: Successful completion of Radiologic Technologist program.

Experience: 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist.


  • Current California Fluoroscopy Certificate.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • California Radiologic Technologist (CRT).
  • BLS Certificate.
  • ACLS Certificate within 1 year.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Education: Medical Assistant, Billing, or Front Office Management certification from an accredited vocational school


  • 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Experience as a Cath Lab or I.R. Radiologic Technologist
