Job Description

Covenant Health is seeking a full time, day shift Physical Therapist Assistant with the Physical Therapy LRMC Department at Covenant Health System.

Job Summary:

Implements individual patient treatment plans under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist according to the principles and practices of Physical Therapy. Requires direct supervision.

Essential Functions:

  • Adheres to the rules regarding standards of practice on ethics according to APTA guidelines and practice act.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Implements the treatment plan and performs direct patient care accurately as designed by the physical therapist.
  • Collaborates with staff physical therapist to reassess patient and periodically revise problem areas, goals and treatment plan.
  • Documents appropriate and accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Provides guidance/supervision of aides, volunteers and students.
  • Enhances professional development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education :

  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapist assistant program.


  • Texas licensure and/or eligible for Texas licensure

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Experience :

  • 1 year of Experience in rehabilitation.
