Description

The Chief Medical Physicist is responsible for the operation of Radiation Physics. The physicist is expected to function with initiative and independent judgment, and will assist with development and application of departmental policies, quality improvement initiatives, budgets, and long range plans applicable to Radiation Oncology. Required certification and licensure includes ABR (Radiology) in radiation therapy or ABR (Radiology) in physics/radiation physics or NRC (or state agency expert criteria) in lieu of certification, in addition to Florida Medical Physicist license. Required specific skills also includes clinical dosimetry of external beams, computer treatment planning and calibration of linear accelerators.
