Job Description

We are looking to hire a Physical Therapist for the Physical Therapy Department at St. Mary Medical Center. St. Mary Medical Center is seeking an acute care PT per diem. If you love working with a great group of collaborative therapists, this is the site for you. Weekends and holidays required. Some weekday shifts may also be available.

Location: Apple Valley, CA

Schedule: On Call/ Per Diem

Job Summary:

Evaluates, plans, directs and administers medically prescribed physical therapy programs in the hospital to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury, or loss of body part. Assists patient to reach his/her maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. The staff Physical Therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Physical Therapy Assistants and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence of that individual. Performs administrative duties and participates in department Performance Improvement, Infection Control, Safety and Education programs.

Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills

Position Requirements:

Education: Graduate of the American Physical Therapy Association training program

Experience: Experience in an acute care or skilled nursing facility.

License / Certification:

  • Current California Physical Therapy license
  • Current BCLS required
  • Clinical Masters Degree (MPT) or Doctorate Degree (DPT); or
  • Certification in one specialty: Cardiopulmonary, Clinical Electrphysiologic, Geriatric, Neurologic, Orthopedic, Pediatric, Sports medicine, California Children Services (CCS) paneled or Wound Specialist (CWS)
