Swedish Medical Center is looking for an Occupational Therapist (Per Diem, Day Shift) to work in Inpatient Occupational Therapy at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

The occupational therapist (OT) delivers and supervises others in the delivery of occupational therapy services. Upon referral, the OT performs evaluations and develops individual plans of care to maximize functional outcomes, implements the plans of care, reassesses treatment results, and actively participates in discharge planning. Services are delivered within the framework of a team approach, including appropriate disciplines, significant others and the patient. Provision of care for pediatric adolescent orthopedic patients may be required. Coverage of both inpatient and outpatient services may be required at the Ballard and Issaquah clinics.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrates complex problem solving skills in both patient care and department operations.
  • Performs patient assessment/reassessment. Establishes plan of care with the patient, which is appropriate to the patient's needs and allows for informed consent or refusal.
  • Documentation meets regulatory requirements, departmental standards, and considers reimbursement needs. Documents on day of visit, usually at time of visit.
  • Carries out assigned responsibilities in a timely and complete manner, using appropriate judgment and detail.
  • Supervises students as assigned

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate from an accredited program of Occupational Therapy
  • Washington state occupational therapy license or limited permit
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)
