Summary:
This position will serve as the Per Diem Vestibular Physical Therapist II for the Brain and Body Health Program at UNC.
This high-profile program provides a comprehensive brain and body wellness exam for athletes retired from professional football and is available to a player every 5 years as part of their ongoing benefits. Our multi-disciplinary team completes an extensive evaluation of a former player’s health during the three-day program, and the player returns to his own community, and care team, with diagnostic results and personalized recommendations intended to improve his overall wellbeing. Our nurse care manager continues to follow the player for a full year after their visit. UNC is proud to be one of the health systems to participate in this work, powered by the NFLPA Trust. We are seeking a teammate who can bring expertise, as well as flexibility.
Candidate should bring:
• Experience providing trauma-informed care
• A History in vestibular rehabilitation, spine rehabilitation
• Experience using video-oculography and computerized dynamic post-urography On-site training is available to customize the experience for both the candidate and patients.
Responsibilities:
1. Completes PT documentation in the medical record per UNC guidelines, and in alignment with program nee.
2. Completes department records for billing in a timely manner, and per UNC standard.
3. Evaluates Patient, sets Physical Therapy (PT) treatment goals, devises a PT treatment plan and manages resources needed to perform treatment plan to accomplish the goals set for the patient.
4. Completes recommendations.
5. Plans and coordinates clinical programing as needed and required
6. Other duties within scope of practice to support program need.
Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements: - Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina. - BLS Professional
Experience Requirements: Five (5) years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist, including one (1) year in the specialty field.
