Job Description

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The chief objective of this position:

      • To manage inpatient and/or ambulatory pharmacies and provide leadership and oversight for pharmacy services. Oversees and is accountable for expense and revenue budgets; provides leadership; and meets customer service objectives. Ensures and maintains compliance with all legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements. Supervise and directs assigned pharmacy staff providing inpatient and/or ambulatory services.
    • Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:

      • Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required or obtained within the first 90 days of employment
    • Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:

      • Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy
    • Experience REQUIRED:

      • Minimum of three (3) years of previous work experience as a Pharmacist or completion of two (2) year residency program with focus in pharmacy administration plus one (1) year of work experience as a Pharmacist
      • Previous experience working with pharmacy information systems and automation
    • Experience PREFERRED

      • Five (5) or more years of previous work experience as a Pharmacist
      • One (1) or more years of supervisory or management experience specifically in outpatient pharmacy services
      • Previous experience with patient support programs (e.g., Ryan White, ADAP, VHCA 340B)
    • Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program

    • Education/training PREFERRED:

      • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program
