Children's Hospital: Pharmacy (Full-time, Day Shift) -

The Pharmacy Technician Two (2)-Inpatient position assists in all aspects of drug distribution within the scope of responsibility. Maintains records and computer data related to patients and medications. Functions in accordance with pharmacy law and written guidelines of the pharmacy department. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.
High School Diploma and Associate’s Degree in Pharmacy Technology or completed a course of training specified by the Board required. Minimum one year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred. California Pharmacy Technician license required. Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required.
Able to write legibly speak; assemble, troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment and perform technical age-specific patient care activities as required; use computer and software programs necessary to the position. Able to communicate effectively, and professionally with others, be assertive and consistent in following policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure, collaborate with others; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing and on the telephone; perform basic math functions essential to position; think critically; organize and prioritize workload; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure, problem solve; recall information; pay close attention to detail; document legibly; use computer for essential job duties. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

As the largest hospital in our region, Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) has over 20 specialties. We are involved in clinical studies and other research programs in areas such as perinatal and molecular biology. We have led the field of infant heart transplantation where we have performed about 50% of the world’s heart transplants in infants less than six months of age, while our Cancer Institute brings focus to cancer research on prevention and treatment. Other areas of research include osteoporosis, mineral metabolism and nutrition.

Loma Linda University Medical Center is a 789-bed academic tertiary care hospital with over twenty specialties. We have 72 beds in our Level III NICU, which is the only one of its kind and size in our region, as well as the Children’s Hospital dedicated just for kids. Along with the Children’s Hospital, LLUMC’s East Campus, and Behavioral Medicine Center, we have nearly 900 beds available for patient care. Our East Campus specializes in the areas of physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedics, neurosurgery and family medicine.
