SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Cheyenne Regional Medical Center traces its history back to 1867 when it began as a frontier tent hospital constructed by the Union Pacific Railroad to treat workers injured building the transcontinental railroad. Through the years, we’ve grown and changed to meet the needs of the people we serve in southeastern Wyoming and western Nebraska. The one thing that has not changed is our original pioneering spirit, which continually pushes us to seek out how we can best care for and meet the health needs of our community and region. This pioneering spirit is also what prompted us to enter into a management services agreement with UCHealth in 2018, with the goal of offering world-class care, close to home.
Community Benefit
To help ensure that more Laramie County residents have access to essential health and wellness services, Cheyenne Regional offers hospital-based programs and also partners with organizations that provide a vital safety net to individuals and families in need. The areas where we provide community support are broken down into several categories, including:
These outreach services totaled more than $245 million from 2012 through 2016. In 2016 our overall contributions to our community came to more than $42 million. Of that $42 million, the total “community benefit,” which includes the first eight categories above, was more than $17 million.
