About the Outer Banks Hospital
Located in the beautiful coastal town of Nags Head, NC. The Outer Banks Hospital offers high-quality care in a compassionate environment—it’s what we’re known for on the Outer Banks.
We opened in March 2002 as a joint venture between Vidant Health and Chesapeake Regional Healthcare. Our facility includes eighteen acute care medical-surgical beds, two labor and delivery/recovery/post-partum beds, a level II nursery bed, a designated caesarian section room, three operating rooms, outpatient and diagnostic services along with a 24-hour emergency department. Affiliated with The Outer Banks Hospital is The Outer Banks Medical Group (a Vidant Medical Group partner) which is comprised of nine phyician practices.
As a community hospital, we offer a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services. We meet the health care needs of our coastal community, whose year-round population of 35,000 swells to 250,000 in the summer months.

Position Summary
Provides safe, expedient, cost-effective respiratory care services to patients. Evaluates, treats and manages patients of all ages with respiratory illnesses and other cardiopulmonary disorders in a wide variety of clinical settings. Makes clinical decisions relating to patient therapy needs, conducts patient evaluations and treatments and assesses treatment plans. Participates in patient education. Documents patient treatments and care accurately and completely. Responsible for documentation relating to billing for services documented and provided.
Associate college degree in Respiratory Therapy and be RRT eligible.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Must be a graduate from an approved RRT or CRT respiratory therapy program. Must have a current North Carolina RCP license to practice. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider status is required upon hire. Must have AHA ACLS certification within 6 months of hire. AHA PALS and AAP/AHA NRP are encouraged.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a therapist in a hospital respiratory therapy department is preferred
Other Information
This is a PRN position; there are not guranteed hours.
Must be available on nights and weekends.
This position is not eligible for Team Member Benefits.
