Position Summary

Responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of individualized Recreational Therapy services for patients with physical, social, emotional and/or cognitive impairments based on evidenced based practice and research. Scope of service includes general adult, Geriatric/ Psyc-med, MR/MI and acute services on the Behavioral Health unit. This position functions as part of the interdisciplinary team.

Minimum Requirements

• BS/ BA and or MS in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreational Therapy.
• Maintains State of North Carolina Recreational Therapy licensure (LRT) through the State of NC Licensure Board.
• Maintains certification as Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) through National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
• One year clinical experience working as LRT/CTRS is preferred. Basic knowledge/awareness of RT interventions/ competencies. Strong working knowledge of individual and group facilitation skills.

Other Information

• Full Time with benefits
• Day shift with weekend/holiday rotattion
• 8 hour shift with extended time one day a week
• This position will work with our Adult population
