The Clinical Social Worker I in the Specialized Transition Program provides clinical care to children, adolescents, adults, and families, including mental health and medically-focused psychosocial evaluations, therapeutic interventions, and coordination of care in an intensive day rehabilitation setting. The incumbent participates on client & family centered interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams reflecting strengths and needs of the client consistent with the values and principles of the practice of social work, and may be involved in training activities, outreach, and research as a member of interdisciplinary programs with opportunities in both the Social Work and the Fairmount Rehabilitation departments. This position provides primarily in-person treatments with some opportunities for telehealth.
Salary for LCSW-C: Minimum starting salary at $74,980 per year based on years of experience.
Responsibilities
Provides mental health and medically-focused psychosocial evaluations to clients referred for social work services.
Provides mental health treatment and medically-focused interventions to assigned clients.
Provides coordination of care on behalf of clients in collaboration with Kennedy Krieger Institute interdisciplinary staff and community agencies. This may include attending internal and external meetings focused on client care.
Utilizes supervision, interdisciplinary consultation, independent study, and training activities to ensure the delivery of high quality care based upon the needs of clients served in the assigned program(s) and or clinic(s).
Provides timely appropriate documentation according to professional, departmental, and Institute guidelines while maintaining billing and productivity standards (as established by the department).
Serves on committees and participates in training, outreach, and research activities, as assigned.
Assists in the establishment and monitoring of performance improvement/performance evaluation standards.
Participates in the instruction and supervision of social work trainees as eligible within the training program criteria and approval.
Qualifications
Must possess and maintain a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) license, issued by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Board of Social Work Examiners.
EDUCATION:
Master's degree from an accredited school of Social Work is required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two years of licensed clinical experience required, preferably with children, adolescents and adults with developmental, learning, medical and/or emotional disabilities.
