Responsible for the development, interpretation, and application of departmental policies, budgets, and long-range plans. Manages, leads, and directs the departments of Cardiac Cardiology Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, EKG, EEG, Echocardiography, Radiology, MRI, CT, Mammography, Ultrasound, and Special Procedures.
Plans, directs, and supervises all technical aspects of the departments in regard to services, programs, and evaluations of such programs. Recommends action to Administration in regard to equipment modifications, new equipment, and essential construction within the department. Assists in the planning for new facilities and recommend facilities, equipment, and personnel needs. Directly responsible for the maintenance of existing equipment and contractual services as required. Coordinates departmental purchasing and is responsible for stock level, storage, and utilization.
Responsible for maintaining department services in accordance with applicable standards. Responsible for the technical aspect of radiologic safety in the hospital and carrying out recommendations of the radiation safety officer.
Responsible for administration of department for preparation of reports, documents, payroll records, statistical surveys, and other data required. Oversees recruitment of personnel and manages staff, including work assignments and call arrangements.
Mediates problems relating to staffing, morale, scheduling, work method procedures, salary adjustments, discipline, transfers, safety, and other actions regarding personnel.
Represents the department at administrative meetings. Recommends after analysis, solutions to inter- and intra-departmental coordination problems.
Participates in the community health education and career information programs.
Delegates appropriate responsibilities to designated staff.
LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Minimum: Bachelor's degree or comparable training and experience which provides skills to perform the job tasks competently. Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Minimum: ARRT registered. Valid CRT certificate from the State of California.
YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum: 5 years of management experience in a medical imaging field.
Preferred: Cath Lab Leadership experience
