Assist with and support development and manage specimen testing processes in all areas of the laboratory. Assist Lab Managers with maintaining policies and procedures system wide. Develop and maintain an understanding of IT systems and data sources associated with laboratory service. Assist with and support the training and competency of all testing personnel. Direct, advocate for and enable visibility of lab and quality processes. Ensure accountability within all areas of the business unit (pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical) such that every employee consistently exhibits behavior that promotes and supports quality. Influence may be exerted both directly and indirectly through the management of liaisons and intermediaries, such as department managers, supervisors and members of the Quality Assurance team.
LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Minimum: Bachelors Degree (If assessing competency of others, a Bachelors Degree in chemical, physical or biological science is required)
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Minimum: MT (ASCP) or CLS or equivalent certification. Licensure and experience has been validated and has been deemed qualified under the guidelines of the State of California and CLIA to perform clinical laboratory tests and examinations classified as waived, moderate or high complexity as described under CLIA. Preferred: Specialist certification in relevant discipline
Minimum: Must have an excellent working knowledge of Laboratory Computer System, Technical departments, General Lab, Quality Assurance, Preferred: Certified Project Manager desired, Certified Six Sigma Green Belt desired.
YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum: .At least five years technical experience. If the individual will be assessing high complexity technical competency of others, they will also need to have 4 years of experience or training in the specialty area that they are assessing.
