ResponsibilitiesThe UCLA Center for Prehospital Care at the David Geffen
School of Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking EMS Program Faculty to join our EMS
Education team. EMS Program faculty work under the Assistant Paramedic Program Director
or EMT Program Director and collaborate closely with the Associate Director,
Medical Directors and the management team within the UCLA Center for
Prehospital Care, including Baxter Larmon, Heather Davis, and David Page.
EMS Program Faculty work as a part of a high functioning team to support all aspects of the
program including but not limited to: coordinating, developing and providing
lectures in the EMT/Paramedic primary, hybrid, preparatory, refresher and
continuing education programs, collaborating on the development and delivery of
psychomotor skills and simulation programs, supporting the clinical/field
internship portion of the program, innovating and researching new learning
methods to promote student success.
EMS Program Faculty will be a student advocate in the
learning process, create an active learning environment, and maintain a high
level of industry competence. The incumbent will be responsible, creative, collaborative,
innovative, and ready to teach in all aspects of our programs.
QualificationsBA/BS (MA/MS or doctorate preferred) in a related field;
minimum of three years’ experience as an educator with a minimum five years’
clinical experience in EMS; current licensure as a paramedic, RN, PA or MD and
eligible for CA licensure and LA County accreditation; knowledge of EMT and
Paramedic program requirements.
