Job Description

The Department of Surgery seeks a Laboratory Specialist to support research in the laboratory of Dr. Melina Kibbe and Dr. Nick Tsihlis. The laboratory pursues basic science and translational research in the fields of vascular biology, biomedical engineering, materials science, nanotechnology, and device development, among others. Located in Pinn Hall at the University of Virginia, the Kibbe-Tsihlis Lab consists of a multidisciplinary group where scientists and physicians work together to achieve a common goal.

Laboratory Specialist employees provide technical laboratory support by performing complex laboratory and research related tasks. Laboratory Specialist employees often train others on work processes and policies.
