Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, formerly Heritage Hospital, is a full-service, 117-bed acute care facility where residents of Tarboro, Edgecombe county and surrounding communities receive a wide range of health services close to home. Our partnership with Vidant Health enhances our wide range of services and improves the quality of care our patients receive. More than 20 specialties are represented by Vidant Edgecombe Hospital's medical staff, assuring the people of Edgecombe county that almost all their health needs can be met right here at home. In addition to acute care, our services include rehabilitation, oncology and outpatient clinics.
Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of patient care. You will use purposeful activity or interventions to promote health and achieve functional outcomes by developing, improving and restoring the highest level of independence of any individual who is limited by a physical injury or illness, a developmental or learning disability or an adverse environmental condition. As an OT, you will also be responsible for the teaching, delegating to or supervising other personnel in implementing the treatment regimen. The OT is directly accountable to the manager for the quality of patient care delivered. You will modify and deliver care that is specific to the age, growth, and development of patients according to departmental scope of services.
