Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed, not-for-profit hospital located in Ahoskie, NC. The 15-bed ER serves approximately 21,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns. Position Summary

  • The Physical Therapist assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care which is age-appropriate for patients in his/her assigned unit or clinical settings.

  • The Physical Therapist provides safe, expedient, cost-effective therapeutic care.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and diagnosis of the patient/client. Evaluate, treat and or direct treatment for patient whom physical therapy is clinically necessary.

  • Acquire and evaluate clinical data from studies, measurements, and monitoring, with consideration for the age and diagnosis of the patient, and reports to/consults with MD and/or Therapist as needed.

  • Provide/record all patient and family education based on learning assessment in patient medical record.

  • Provide ordered therapeutic interventions according to current standards of care.

  • Maintain ongoing documentation in which goals, progress and medical necessity are clearly stated.

  • Demonstrate effective computer skills for electronic charting, billing and order processing, completed timely in order to meet facility, physician and payer source deadline.

  • Adjusts work load to meet the demands of patient care including the alteration of scheduled work hours including weekends.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of a accredited school for License Physical Therapist.

  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist by North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

  • Additional training/certification as deemed necessary to practice in a specialty area as dictated by the patient age or conditions.

  • Current BLS at time of hire and maintained during employment.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
