Position Summary

To carry out the functions associated with the NCOEMS Scope of Work for the Hosptial Preparedness Program including, but not limited to logistical matters related to the Eastern Regional Advisory Committee's (ERAC) State Medical Assistance Team (SMAT) and the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response Grant (ASPR) grant.


  • Coordinate and manage the responsibilities of EHPC SMAT and the Hospital Preparedness Program.
  • Deploy with the SMAT. Serve as Team Leader for SMAT II on State requested deployments.
  • Organize meetings, trainings, and special projects.
  • Plan and conduct administrative duties related to the day-to-day management of the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response Grant (ASPR).
  • Duties will include preforming preventative maintenance on response equipment, rotation of medical supplies, operation of vehicles, receiving of deliveries, processing of inventory in to the state inventory management system, and assist with training programs.
  • Maintain the operational readiness of regional SMRS packages and resources in order to respond effectively during an event. This activity will focus on the evaluation and replacement of supply caches, replacement of expired or useable items, and maintenance of equipment to ensure a safe, functional state of readiness.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Mgr, Reg Emergency Prep & Resp, including but not limited to the Additional Coordination Duties/Deliverables listed in the Scope of Work grant contract.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • 5 to 7 years of related experience required
  • Certified EMT-Paramedic preferred
  • 'Class A' CDL required, or obtain within 6 months of employment
