The Pharmacy Manager is a new position for UVA Community Health. It is an outstanding opportunity for Pharmacy leaders. This leader will be instrumental in helping to shape the future of UVA Community Health’s pharmacy program.
The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for the daily financial and clinical operations of the Haymarket Pharmacy Department. This person will also work collaboratively with the System Director and other Pharmacy managers to establish goals for the UVA-Community Health pharmacy team and will help support regional and system pharmacy operations.
The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Pharmacy Department and reports to the System Director of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Manager is accountable for the procurement, storage, and distribution of all medications throughout the hospital. In addition, the Pharmacy Manager is accountable for all clinical and distributive activities of the department, responsible for development and management of the fiscal budget, attends assigned management meetings, ensures that the pharmacy department is compliant with all federal and state regulations (including Joint Commission) pertaining to the practice of pharmacy. The Pharmacy Manager will serve as the Pharmacist In-Charge (PIC), may delegate PIC responsibility to the assistant pharmacy manager as applicable. The Pharmacy Manager is accountable for ensuring that personnel issues within the department are appropriately addressed, and staffing is adequate. The Pharmacy Manager will be held accountable for keeping abreast of new developments in the provision of comprehensive pharmacy services, demonstrate imagination through creative solutions and transformation.
