The Advanced Medical Assistant - BMO for Urgent Care assists providers with patient examination, procedures, treatment, and x-ray/imaging services. Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab. Follows up on test orders and reports results to provider and patient, provides and maintains patient education materials, maintains medical equipment, and orders clinical supplies. Creates and maintains patient electronic medical record (EMR). Complies with all applicable regulatory agency regulations. Supports both front and back office duties. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required specific skills also includes: Position may require travel to other site depending on patient volume and clinic needs; Ability to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.
Required Certification or Licensure:
Required Experience includes 2 years Medical Assistant, EMT or Paramedic or 1 year LPN or RN.
The clinic hours for most BayCare Urgent Care locations are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday and 9:00 to 6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The Work Schedule for this position is a twelve (12) hour shift 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (or until last patient leaves) Monday through Friday, and 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (or until the last patient leaves) on Saturday and Sunday with a Two Days On, then Two Days off Rotation. This will include every other weekend.
