The Surgical Technician is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
Required Education or Training:
- Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program;
- Or completion of a military Surgical Technologist Program;
- Or hospital based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience
Required Skills:
- Sterile technique
- Instrumentation
- Equipment
- Sterile field set-up
Preferred: NBSTSA or NCCT.
