Must be competent in performing point-of-service testing. Must be proficient in phlebotomy skills. Must have absolute integrity in the accurate performance and reporting of results. Must be able to organize work and to determine priorities. Must have professional discretion with patient information. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with other hospital personnel and with patients. Job duties require rigid clerical accuracy in the identification and reporting of numbers, names and results.

Education and/or Other Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent.
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Considerable physical exertion, including continuous (70 to 100%) walking, standing, bending, reaching and pushing/pulling of average to heavy loads (26 to 60 pounds). Mobility between nursing units is essential to perform phlebotomy duties.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work under stress and adapt to changing conditions. Must have reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
• Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.
