Where you work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator II (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work at the Breast Surgery Clinic at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Patient Services Coordinator II functions as an integral team member in the Swedish Breast Surgery and High-Risk Care Clinic. The PSC has a role in providing support, clinical coordination and scheduling for women being treated for breast cancer and high-risk breast surveillance plans. The Center opened 10 years ago with a philosophy that space should support the multidisciplinary needs of the patient and the physical space where team members can work collaboratively The PSC II works with healthcare professionals such as physicians, ARNPs, PA’s and RNs in a wide spectrum of clerical and administrative duties involving the care of patients.

This position will be responsible for surgery scheduling which involves multiple other departments in the medical center. In addition to surgeries, the PSC will be responsible for appointment scheduling , insurance authorizations, and organizing care as directed by the direct care team.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills regarding patient care and clinic matters are vital. The position combines kindness, creativity, and proactive energy. This individual must perform responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner. The PSC II will partner with outside facilities to gather patient information as needed to help facilitate patient care needs. In addition, this role may be assigned to participate in other project work. All duties are to be accomplished with an exceptional customer service approach designed to optimize the patient's experience in the True Center


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Experience in obtaining insurance verifications, referrals and authorizations.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree Or equivalent from a college or technical school preferred.
  • 1 year Related experience in a healthcare setting (i.e. physician’s office, scheduler, etc.).
