Responsibilities The Special Programs Manager will work under the supervision of the Director of Inpatient Pharmacy, Director of Clinical Director, and practicing under the scope of State and Federal laws and statutes. The incumbent will be working on the implementation of processes to maintain and ensure the department functions at maximum efficiency. The Special Programs Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily functions of all Technician I, II and III within the Pharmaceutical Services of the Health System. This person will train and maintain competencies pertinent to these individuals. QualificationsCalifornia Pharmacy Technician License or Intern License – Required 5 years of pharmacy technician experience - Required Bachelor Degree (preferred) Knowledge of pharmaceutical generic and trade names and their dosage forms, and the ability to cross-reference common drugs from memory. Ability to accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations. Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical abbreviations. Ability to work independently and follow-through on assignments with minimal supervision. Telephone and verbal skills required to communicate clearly and effectively with pharmacists, nurses, physicians and other allied health professionals. Requires intense and consistent concentration with attention to detail, and requires speed and accuracy. Requires normal range of hearing and vision in order to communicate and perform effectively. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk. Requires ability to lift 25 lbs and push 50 lbs.
