Our core values are compassion, integrity, excellence, teamwork and wholeness.The Radiologic Technologist-CVL (Cardiovascular Lab Specialty) practices in a large university medical center with a Level One Tertiary Trauma Center designation. Under the general supervision of the Director, performs simple and complex diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiovascular procedures for the adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations with cardiac dysfunction. Collaborates with leadership in the development of standards of care, patient/family education and staff education to address the needs of this specialized patient population. Operates the physiologic and radiographic equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Ensures all patient care equipment is calibrated and that operational capabilities are tested consistent with departmental guidelines and regulation. Anticipate potential safety concerns in the environment of care and intervene. Provide direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of material resources. Appraises quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and collaborate with appropriate departments to assist with vendor selection and feedback on performance. Participates in educational activities, departmental committees, approved research projects and other health-related projects as assigned. Guide the professional growth of others across the continuum of care through role modeling, coaching and/or mentoring by designing orientation modules and serving as a primary preceptor to staff or students. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.
Successful completion of accredited Radiological Technology program. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum three years of previous cardiac or vascular catheterization or electrophysiology experience required.
Active California Radiologic Technologist license with fluoroscopy permit required. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required by end of introductory period.
