Job Description

ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision of a Senior Supervisor Clinical Lab Technologist, perform independently a wide variety of technical procedures in Serology. Other responsibilities include method development-modification-parallel testing, collaboration on or independent preparation of abstracts or manuscripts, maintenance repair of laboratory instruments, sample processing, reagent preparation, and data entry. On a daily basis, assess overall workload for any area that needs help and assist co-workers without being reassigned by the supervisor. QualificationsRequired: A current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License. Bachelor's Degree Must have a minimum of at least two years experience in current technical and practical in Immunoserology and/or Chemistry. Demonstrated working knowledge of current instrumentations: Siemens Centaur, BioFlash, Agility, DSX, Liaison and/or other immunoassay instruments, Sebia Hydrasys, OC Sensor Diana (FIT) instrument, Centrifuges, Water Baths, Analytical Balance, Fume hoods. Clinical and Technical knowledge: Serologic and immunoassay techniques, Fluorescent antibody tests, Reference ranges, Test methodologies, Instrument operation and maintenance, CAP and other regulatory requirements. Must have knowledge of disease states associated with the tests performed in the area in order to be able to inform physicians on significance of test results. Working knowledge of laboratory safety. Able to perform testing, documentation, interpretation, and preparation of written reports for ongoing research and development, method development projects.
