Responsibilities Under general supervision of a Senior Supervisor CLS, MSO II Supervisor, or Senior CLS Specialist, perform independently a wide variety of technical and non-technical procedures in a section of the Dept. Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Ensure all work is performed properly and in a timely manner. Other responsibilities include parallel testing, collaboration on or independent preparation of abstracts or manuscripts, maintenance and repair of laboratory instruments, sample processing, reagent preparation, data entry and phlebotomy duties. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed. On a daily basis, assess overall workload for any area that needs help, and help coworkers without being reassigned by the supervisor. QualificationsAbility to communicate professionally and effectively with donors, physicians and staff in a high volume setting. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments. Efficiency and accuracy in facilitating the appointment making process. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate multiple appointments with donors. Proficiency in PC with associated programs including Word, Excel, and Email. Experience in composing clear and understandable written memos and using correct grammar. Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely and accurate manner. Ability to prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload and assignments, pressures of deadlines, and/or a heavy workload.
