Pharmacy Times spoke with Jessica Langely, MS, executive director of education and advocacy, about the importance of expanding the role of pharmacy technicians.
Langely's role supports pharmacy technician professions and 7 other allied health professions, in addition to producing nationally accredited industry recognized certification or credentialing exams. She added how it is very important for individuals to get these credentials for any future job opportunities, and preparation such as study guides or practice exams from their organization can help with this.
According to NHA's annual publication, Access, 90% of employers prefer or require certification of an individual upon hire or shortly after someone is hired. Langely explained that although getting certified is a box that the NHA wants to check to get a job done, but it also shows an individual's personal committment to the profession.
