We currently have an opening for a part-time Infant Nutrition Educator on our Mother/Baby Unit.Responsibilities: Serve as clinical resource to all units within the hospital on issues related to lactation. Review and develop hospital policies which relate to breastfeeding. Collaborate with staff on developing resolutions to any inpatient breastfeeding problems. Maintain all aspects of breast pump use and loaned pump activities. Participate in staff orientations and educational/clinical development. Participate in educational opportunities for staff regarding breastfeeding. Develop and provide breastfeeding information to patients. community events to advance the awareness of the Lactation Program. Conduct unit tours for expectant parents as requested. Participate in special projects as delegated. Assist with teaching prenatal classes-prepared childbirth and breastfeeding classes. Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree of Nursing or related health field preferred.* Previous experience with inpatient lactation programs and/or knowledge of the types of clinical breastfeeding issues seen in the early postpartum, neonatal and pediatric populations* Current (or eligible) Kansas Registered Nurse license.* International Board Certified Lactation Consultant or Breastfeeding Educator Certification preferred or must obtain certification within three years.
